The third core update of the year, the November 2024 core update, has started to be issued by Google. Around 3:30 pm on November 11, 2024, the update started going out, and it will take around two weeks to finish. There are no additional details regarding what changed or what was improved, so this seems like a standard core update.
We knew this update was coming – and it finally arrived yesterday afternoon. Google also told us not to expect HCU victim sites to recover with this update.
As of right now, some people have claimed that their rankings have dropped even more. However, at the time I wrote this piece, the vast majority of people reported that they hadn’t yet noticed any movement. Naturally, I’ll monitor the conversation and update you on what individuals are seeing in the days ahead. Furthermore, the majority of the volatility tracking programs display normal volatility, so perhaps this hasn’t started yet.
Indeed, it was launched on the US Veterans Day holiday, but it appears to have been released far in advance of the major Christmas shopping season, which takes place after Thanksgiving.
